One of my farmscapes, farmed and now framed...
[farmscape I, mixed media on canvas, 60cm x 120cm]There is a reference to landscape in colour and format, a modulation of stripes hint at the structures of agriculture - a farm (buildings) and its landscape (fields) distilled into one work, when viewed in both the horizontal and the vertical... here are a couple of images showing some textural surface details...
This prompted me to sift through a few of my journal's farmyard and field photographs, to illustrate further...
...and the striations live on, long after the painting has ceased... I have been keeping all of the masking tape discards...
